The costumes and make up in horror movies are extremely important as they add to the mise-en scene of the film which will help create a verisimilitude affect
Red in horror: is one of the most prominent colours used in the horror genre. The color of our own blood is used to emphasize fear. It can also represent bottled-up rage and violence.
Pink in horror: symbolizes femininity, youth, innocence, sweetness, immaturity, inexperience (especially sexual), empowerment, and female sexuality.
Yellow in horror: is like symbolizes hope (albeit rarely),decay, physical rot, moral rot, suffering, illness (both physical and mental), anxiety, and caution.
Green In horror: symbolizes suffocation, witchcraft, the natural turned unnatural, disease, immortality, projection, grime, danger (especially when using mint green), and vulnerability (especially when it comes to ‘night vision camera’ green).
Blue In horror: symbolizes tension, night time, anxiety, cold fear, unearthed monsters and demons, melancholy, danger, and tragedy.
Purple In horror: symbolizes royalty, exclusivity, otherworldliness, dreams, aliens, femininity, youth, and innocence.
Black and white In horror: symbolizes lurking evil, tension, psychological storytelling, eeriness, amorality, moral and ethical extremes, and order and discordance.
Black In horror: symbolizes death, mourning, misfortune, evil, suffering, bad luck, ill omens, depression, grief, horrors lurking in the shadows, anxiety, wickedness, forbidden pleasures, and witchcraft.
White In horror: white can symbolize deadlines, a cult-like mentality, hidden danger, vulnerability, medical experimentation, alien abduction, artificiality, isolation, death, and profound fright
To conclude colour is one of the main thing of filming because it tell how the story are going by the colour. Second colour in the film background can make the scene or the shot into a ambiance, amplifies emotion, and heightens symbolism motion.
